Beth Nance Library
Carla Y. Davis joined the NPBC library in September of 2010 as its Cataloguing Librarian. She has a Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS). Carla has been involved in introducing many exciting changes for the college over the last nine months and recommendations for the future. New projects include upgrading and enabling a web-based Integrated Library. When fully implemented, this OPAC (Online Public Access) system will give students electronic access to our collection. In addition, we are planning to partner with a consortium of neighboring Christian libraries which will strengthen our research capabilities by providing a database of literally tens of thousands of books, articles, and digital media etc. “Our goal is for our students to have ‘access’ to relevant and timely information in a more efficient way and staying abreast of current technologies. We are also addressing time and travel concerns for working students who attend our evening courses.” Look for more information about the library on our face book page!
