2011 Graduates and Honorees

NPBC graduates three Associate of Ministry Degree Students
Families and friends of the 2011 Honors and Commencement graduates gathered at Bethesda Christian Church to witness and to congratulate recipients for earning their Associate of Christian Ministry Degrees. They also applauded the honorees receiving certificates in Biblical Studies, Christian Teaching, Christian Counseling, as well as recognitions for those completing various sequences.
Dr. Andrea P. Cook, President of Warner Pacific College, gave the commencement address. Using her life as an example, she reminded students that God uses ordinary people to accomplish extra-ordinary work and they should continue to strive for their destiny according to his purpose and plan for his glory according to Psalm 115:1.
NPBC’s Board Chair, Rodney Johnson, served as the master of ceremonies while President James Sweeney and Earnestine Cellestine, Vice President of Academic Affairs, presented the awards. Barbara Metcalf was the Valedictorian and Harry Laurenceau was the Salutatorian with a GPA between 3.5 and 3.7.
Harry Laurenceau will continue his education at Multnomah University this fall to obtain
a degree in theology. He will also continue to minister in the Portland Haitian community.

Barbara Metcalf will continue to enhance her Bible knowledge through
courses at NPBC and ministering to students at the school.

Kenneth Staples owns a landscaping business, serves the homeless
in Portland, and ministers in Haiti and the West Indies.
